Hunkering Down

This weekends due to be a stormy one here in the UK, we've got to the time of year, when I feel like hunkering down in a huge pile of blankets.  I've already managed to succumbed to my first bug of winter so, this weekend I've been resting up, trying and shake it off.  As hopefully next weekend if, I'm well enough, will be a busy one for me.

I've stocked up on all the hunkering down essentials, with magazines to read.

I've been doing lots of juicing too, trying to give my immune system a bit of a boost, this ones Blueberry, Apple, Pineapple and Mango, was really tasty. Hunkering instincts have been craving a nice hot chocolate, but I've been trying to resist, dairy and Clare are not a good combination theses days.

The Hunkering instinct of stocking up on supplies has also kicked in over the past week, I've succumbed to a little crafty retail therapy to cheer myself up. All essential mind !! Ribbons Buttons and Beads, the essentials of life !!

All the supplies are for my wintertime wreath, which I've decided to make in blues silvers and whites. Sorry about the early Christmas reference, but I couldn't resist making my tinsel pom poms into a little tree for the photo. I wasn't 100% about the tinsel when I ordered them, but now they are here my inner magpie is very happy.

Talking of pom poms I ordered all these cute little ones too !!

and of course my new yarns and cottons, they look so cosy all hunkered down together.

Talking of new supplies, just lookie what arrived in the post the other day from Melanie at 'The Patchwork Robin'. Nothing like tissue paper parcels to cheer the heart. I was lucky enough to win Melanie 100th post giveaway.  Do you want to see what was in the lovely parcels?

Lots and lots of lovely craft supplies and a lovely little case for my embroidery scissor. So a big thank you to Melanie for her generous giveaway gifts.

Now what other Hunkering essentials are we missing out on, oh yes a hunkering buddy. Merli's been snuggled up on the bed with me most days now since the weathers changed.

So that's me set then, ready to baton down the hatches, with my cosy fairy lights and my latest crafty make to keep me busy ( more on that another day.)

Happy Crafting

Clare xx

  2. Lovely post Clare and yes summer seems to have gone in a flash. Weather here is grey, dull, cold and rainy, so staying in with lots of crafty supplies, projects and a crafting buddy is a really good idea! Looking forward to your winter wreath.
