If it wasn't for ME

Hello...... Today is ME awareness day, as many of you who regularly read my blog know I suffer from ME, well as with many things with ME it's complicated my official diagnosis is ME but I'm being treated for suspected Lyme disease.

Currently things have gone horribly wrong again and my illness is in full on relapse, meaning I'm struggling even with my basic living needs and I'm stuck in bed again.

I had planned a post for ME awareness day this year, with lots of photos, which I was going to call 'If it wasn't for ME' where I was going to write about all the things this illness had taken from me all the ways my life would be different 'if it wasn't for ME.

I'm not well enough to write that post and collect all the photo's together so the sad irony is

"If it wasn't for ME I'd be well enough to write this post'

So instead I have decided to share the link to the post I wrote for the awareness day last year. I hope you don't mind and that you take the time to read it.

Here the link 'It's all about ME since writing this post my health has relapsed again last summer which I'm still struggling to recover from. I've seen a Immunologist and I'm waiting to see a Cardiologist as every part of my body is effected.  I'm on additional treatment too for symptom management (as there is no cure) Vitamin B12  injection, Antivirals and even more supplements.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this awareness post, have a great week

Clare xx

  1. I have just used the link to your post about ME, its certainly an eye opener I didn't realise just how severe it can be. My husband is a rheumatoid arthiritis/stills disease sufferer and is on trial drugs at the moment which includes infusions, injections and oral medication. It is not a cure there is no cure but new drugs are being found all the time fingers crossed for a break through for ME/Lyme disease. God bless.

  3. Clare I'm so sorry you're having such a bad relapse. I hope it's not a long one and you can get yourself back to your usual level of rubbish health very soon. Of course I'd prefer it if you went over and above that level and recovered completely! Take care of yourself and I'm sending some gentle hugs to you xxxx

  5. What a shame your are having a relapse, and how ironic given the post you had planned. I just with I could send you a huge big hug. Take care, let it run its unpleasant course and get back up when you have the strength.

  9. So sorry to hear about your health problems. My youngest daughter has had ME for the last few years while trying to do her degree. She took the third year off, hoping to rest and recover, but is still far from well. It's so frustrating having no cure or even much understanding from the doctors. Lets hope there's a breakthrough soon! xx
