Crocheted Poppy

Hello......... A few weeks ago my sister asked me if I would crochet her a Poppy for Remembrance day. After she saw the Poppies we were making for the local library 'here'

So I set to work with some sparkly red yarn and Wendy Poole's Charity Fundraiser Poppy pattern

Originally my sister asked if I could add a beaded centre and I played around with beading some felt, but in the end this cute little chunky button looked so much better on the Poppy.

Then all I had to do was add a pin to the back and ....

 Ta-Dah
I one sparkly Poppy.

Here's how it looks pinned to a coat, as I used DK yarn on a 3mm hook, the poppy turned out quite big, but I think it's the perfect size to wear on a Winter Coat.

It's a really quick and easy make, so if you wanted to make one of your very own, you've got plenty time before Remembrance Day.
Linking up with Chrissie's  and  Marianne for crochet along.
Happy Crafting

Just before I go there is a super  fab giveaway running at the mo over at 'Knit with Attitude' lots of lovely yarniness to be won, so why not pop over and check it out.

  3. Love that poppy will make for next year if I can;t get it done now. I do have a white version of poppy made the same way and I wear them both, Rd to remember all those fallen and injured and White to promote Peace in the world.
