Hello...... So December is here and with it the weather has turned decidedly chilly here at the Summerhouse.
but how lovely the wintry views are from the house.
Out in the garden the berries are looking very festive.
I'm loving the colourful leaves on this plant almost like a traffic light.
The start of December means it's time to stock up the advent calender.
How I love filling up the pretty little fabric bags with treats, this year I'm going to be opening the ones with the Mistletoe and 'P' the stars.
and hidden along the way there will be extra special treats too.
As for the Christmas gift making, I've still got so much to get done, so much so I'm thinking of training up Merlin, when I came upstairs for a rest the other afternoon, it made smile to find he'd pinched a crochet hook before falling asleep, so I'm sure he'll be keen to learn !!
With the festive season on it's way I'll been needing to practise some suitably wintry songs for the local folk night in a couple of weeks time.
Today I've been resting up recovering, after a week of feeling pretty rotten, I finally made it out for a bit yesterday afternoon, a friend and I went to a local open Arts Studio event, and had fun looking at some wonderful artwork, paintings and photographs. It was also great to discover a impromptu music session at the event and despite feeling pretty ropey, I was persuaded into borrowing a guitar and playing a couple of songs, creativity sure does cheer the spirits.
so you'll be pleased to know I've finally got on with it and finished off sewing in the ends on my Cosy Blanket, from now on I'm going to deal with the dreaded ends at the end of each week.
Sadly in order to hang up the Advent Calender I've had to take down my Autumn time wreath, how I will miss it's Berry tones, but not to worry as soon it will be time to take it apart and re pin the Wintertime Wreath again.
I'm looking forward to seeing the icy blues and silvers on the wreath, much more fitting for the season.
I hope you are all enjoying the start of December too.

It will be lovely to see your winter wreath again. I hope that you have a good week and enjoy the advent treats! xx
ReplyDeleteYour wreaths are so pretty. I really like the shirt you have on in the photo with your guitar; are those parakeets on your shirt? I think it's really cute. Hope you're feeling well and that you have a good week.
ReplyDeleteHi Jennifer thanks, I'm not sure I think they are just colourful little birds, it supposed to be a dress but it quite short so I wore it with skinny, jeans, a good job to as I ended up performing at the Studio event, so there may have a wardrobe malfunction, if I'd worn it as a dress, i just love how colourful it is, hope you are having great weekend

Your photos are lovely. I like the contrast between the misty views at the top, and then the very bright leaves and berries. Both your wreaths are just stunning. So much work, but they are beautiful.
