One Year

Hello......... Thanks for stopping by, yes today here at the Summerhouse was are celebrating, yes it's one year today since I started the blog.  Look even the sun has come out after yet another storm last night to help celebrate. I find it hard to believe it's been  a year already.

Yep a blogiversary, one whole years worth of Summerhouse ramblings, let loose on the world.

So we are putting the metaphorical bunting up today and looking back at what a enjoyable escape this blogging business has been. Over the year I've made so many lovely friends and I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who had popped by the Summerhouse over the past year, and said hello. It really has meant a lot.

I've found writing the blog such a wonderful escape, as some of you know I suffer from a Chronic illness that means I'm mostly house bound and spend a lot of time stuck in bed,  so writing this blog has been a real tonic and a access to the outside world.

In fact one of the reasons I decided to start writing this blog was to try and help with a new and scary symptom I developed.  Yes toward the end of 2012 I noticed that I was losing the ability to write and spell, I would be writing something and read it back to find I'd randomly missed out word, or written the wrong word completely, plus my spelling had gone to pot. So off I went for a scary MRI as suddenly losing these skills is not a everyday thing.

So my answer  to all this was 'use it or lose it' so I decided to start writing this blog.  To try and make my brain work. So I apologise if sometimes there are lots of errors in my posts, I read and re read them so many times correcting the mistakes but I'm sure sometime they slip through.  As for this fab fun new symptom, no one really knows, it's another  part of the wacky world ME/Lyme disease.

Any road onwards, today we are celebrating

aww here she is, she's a bit of a fine old  Vinatge lady,  is my lovely summerhouse she over 40 years old now with a tale of her own which you can read more about 'here' . (Ssh don't tell anyone but I think that's pretty old for a shed)

So it's been a year of flowers from the garden

Crochet

Paper cafts

Flowers

Stitching and

Summerhouse living,

and my biggest achievement for the year has to be my wreaths, as a newbie crocheter I've learnt so much making them over the past year. So this year it's onwards and upwards to my first blanket.

Now I was planning on doing another summerhouse giveaway to celebrate but I've just not been well enough this year to get it all organised so the plan is I'll be doing one later in the year when hopefully my health has picked up a bit.

Thanks again for all support and friendship over the past year it really is appreciated. I still find it hard to believe sometimes that so many people are stopping by, so I thank you again.
Until next time have a wonderful weekend.

Clare xx

As for the seaside bunting pictured above well I be telling you all about it next time.

  3. Happy Blogaversary!! You have done loads in the last year and all so beautifully. Your bunting looks lovely and will be very well received I am sure. Don't worry about the spelling, I think that it is called age and fingers going too slow for your brain! Plus we all have things that slip through sometimes, you probably just noticed it and then became aware of it because you were looking for it more! I hope that your next year of blogging is even better than the last one has been. xx

  4. Congratulations on a year of blogging about lovely happy things Clare, even when you've been suffering ill-health - you've done a marvellous job and produced some beautiful projects that I hope you are proud of, for you deserve to be, especially in the face of such adversity!
I love the story about your Summer House, and I'm looking forward to seeing you get busy with blankets. Wishing you the best, with warm hugs, Joy xo

  5. I've loved reading your blog Clare and congratulations on your blogoversary. I can really identify with your sentiments in writing it and crafting prolifically. I've had enforced downtime and blogging has proved to be a total window on the world for me while I've been confined to barracks. I do hope you health picks up and you keep sharing on your wonderful blog.

  7. Happy bloggiversary honey. It was so interesting reading this post as even though I feel I know you a little I didn't realise that we started our blogs during the same month and for exactly the same reason: use it or lose it. I could read or write properly anymore either, I must say I still struggle. Here is to another fabulous year and I'm so pleased that I've met you and love your little space you've created here. You are so darn talented and I love seeing all your creative makes. Hip hip hooray!!!! Much love honey xxxx
