Stitching Sundays: 05

It's 'Stitching Sunday' again and I'm pleased to announce that I have finished the first little section on my napkin.

This journey into the world of colourful floss and embroidery has been so much fun,  I've had quite a tough week, so this has been a great escape for me, as I can easily pick it up and put it down so it's a fab low energy craft. Yippee.

I also have to say a big thank you to our trusty dual lamp, with it's daylight blue bulb, it's been so gloomy and wet her today, that I think I would have struggled without it.  It used to belong to my lovely Nan and although it's not the prettiest of lamps it's comes in really handy, especially for doing embroidery on a gloomy October day.

So are you all ready to see my first ever finished embroidery square????

Ta-Dah
here it is my little blossom tree, to represent Springtime on my Summerhouse sampler.  I'm going to be brave now, here's a closer look at the stitching, which is in no way perfect.

I used seven different pink flosses, plus some sparkly pink thread, that I remembered was in my sewing box (the reel in the top picture).  It doesn't show up very well in the photo, but it's sparkles in the daylight. So I've added little stitches of it throughout my tree, it looks like sparkling raindrop from April shower's on the blossoms.

I used a mix of different stitches which I've been learning along the way, it's been so much fun. So what's next well I am planning a tree for each season, situated in the other three corners. I also have the cutest Rose Cross stitch I'd like to try, that came with the August copy of Mollie Makes magazine.

Linking up with Chrissie's Stitch along
and Nicoles 'Keep Calm Craft on'so why not pop over and see all the other beautiful things everyone's  been making.

Happy Crafting

  5. Your little tree is gorgeous Clare - it really stands out with its lovely array of colours, well done! And where did you get those scissors!!! I have a gold pair in the same design, and they are indispensable, but I have never seen them in those gorgeous colours and I love them!
