Hello...... I can't believe it's June already, so long to May, which has to be one of my favourite months of the year.
Sadly I spent most of May feeling pretty rotten and stuck in bed, so not a awful lot got done here at the Summerhouse. I did make it out to a Bluebell wood which was well worth the energy payback.
There has been little bit of crochet here Roses and a Poppy, I finsihed off my Spring time Mandala and I completed some granny squares for my Springtime throw. The garden sprung to life and I even made a little May Day basket to celebrate May day.
I'm trying to play mandolin for 10 minutes each day trying to get my hands working as I'd love to be well enough to attend the Sorefingers Music School Weekend in October it's good to have something to plan for and look forward to, only time will tell if I'll be well enough to go.
As for my resolution at the start of the year to try and do some art each month, well here's May's effort a postcard size water colour to try and capture the magic of the Bluebells, I'm so tempted to add some fine blue glitter to the bluebells.
Out in the Summerhouse garden May was Marvellous, so many Roses, no wonder I was so inspired to make them the focus of my Summertime Wreath
The year in books
May saw me finished April book Hunting Unicorns by Bella Pollen, although I found the book a little slow in places I enjoyed it in the end, I found the second part of the book much better than the first.
May's book was 'The Voice of Angels by Francesea Brown, as I mentioned before I was lent this book as the author also suffered from ME before finding her Spiritual path and recovering, I have to say I found it fascinating read.
So onto June, where I'm escaping off to historical Devon, Summer days of old and Pirates with Daphne Du Maurier 'Frenchmans Creek' I have to say I'm already ahead with this months read as I've nearly finished it, when I done I'm planning to re read 'The Lyme Disease Solution' by Kenneth Singleton MD, I say re read and my memory is like a goldfish these day.
Well that's about it have a wonderful June one and all.

I love you monthly mosaics, Clare :-) You always manage to accomplish a whole lot despite not feeling great, so well done you. Happy weekend,
ReplyDeleteHugs xx
Lovely pics Clare, and as Gilly already said, so much accomplished even though you have been suffering flare-ups. I do hope you are able to take part in the music festival when it comes around! Tell me please, and I know I'm showing my ignorance here, what is the name of that beautiful tree in your first pic? Take care of yourself, happy weekend! xoJoy
ReplyDeleteHi Joy it's a Horse Chestnut tree which is next to the Summerhouse, it's a pink one which is a hybrid species. Now it's older we get conkers from it, which is great as they are not supposed to produce any. Have a great weekend xx
DeleteMany thanks for that Clare - my goodness, conkers bring back happy memories of days gone by! xo
DeleteWonderful inspiring pictures for May, as already said a lot of things achieved despite not feeling so good. Fingers crossed for October. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou really have accomplished a lot in spite of your health issues. I love your drawing, it's really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you've had such a beautiful, inspirational month! I love your artwork, please keep going with it and show us more! And have fun with the mandolin practice, music always makes me feel better, a rotten day can be sorted with a good choir practice for me! Chrissie x
ReplyDeleteYour tree is beautiful to see, I hope that June brings good things, May certainly appears to have bought lots of beautiful flowers your way, so I hope that they have cheered you as much as seeing them here cheered me. xx
ReplyDeleteAlways love your mosiacs - such beautiful pictures. Seeing the poppy - I wanted to thank you. I made one for myself and a friend, added a red, white and blue ribbon and we wore them for Memorial Day. They were just perfect! Hope June will be a "feel better" month for you! Midge
ReplyDeleteYou are so talented - that is a gorgeous painting, you should frame it xxx
ReplyDeleteThe watercolour you have painted is really beautiful.
