Suffolk, Sunshine and Storms : The Village

Hello... I'm back after being completely Internet free for the past week while we were away.  It's amazing how much the world of technology encroaches into everyday life. So I kept telling myself 'it's good to get away from it all', but it surely was a struggle at time.  Any road over the next few posts I thought I would share with you what we've been up to while we were away.  I'm pretty exhausted and brain foggy after a very busy week so I apologise for any spelling errors and my rambling's if they are more foggy than usual.

We went to stay in a tiny picture postcard village in Suffolk, somewhere I've visited lots of times over the last twenty years. I usually go with friends but this time was different a strictly family affair and it was lovely to share my love of the place with them.  Shall we go on a little tour of the village....

Stepping out the front door we follow the little path, going past the lovely cottage with the Owlie weather vain, until we get to the....

the village duck pond, joy of joys I love the happy bobbing duckies so much, and they are just as please to see us,

as they all came swimming across the pond, but perhaps that was the bread !! It was so lovely seeing the boys feeding the ducks and making friends 'L' spent quite a lot of time watching and feeding them, I just knew he felt the same about the ducks as his Auntie Clare when he started to name his new friends

The perfect way to relax after a day of traveling, the adults chatted on the bench while the boys were feeding the ducks.

Then we had a wander across the village green, and around the pretty village with it's stunning cottages and pubs.

The weather while we were away was very hot and humid, with lots of rain and heavy showers, sun screen and a packer mac, essential for any British Summer holiday, but it does make for some fabulous looking clouds.

Then it was back to the cottage for a cuppa and to make some dinner.

while enjoying the wonderful sunsets.

The next day was a bit more of a wash out, less heavy showers more miserable unrelenting rain, so a morning was spent pottering around the cottage, I did a little bit of crochet I''d taken my Stylecraft special DK along to make some bunting.

Then there was time for a spot of colouring, using a set of magic pens, I'd completely forgot the fun of magic pens and the boys were very excited to discover the joy of them, you know the ones that come with a clear pen that when you draw over the top the colours change. I'm so easily pleased. In the afternoon we all piled in to the car and went off to the cinema while the rain kept falling.

Please go away rain we are on our holidays, we have beaches to visit and
fun outside adventures to have...........  but more on that next time.

Clare x
